oh yea sixteen is plenty ,I would rather have them on a knob than
have to use buttons to scroll thru them but scrolling would be OK
for the spindle speed override (it dosent get used as much)
the feedrate override knob comes in handy when you do the first run to
verify programs ,you set the machine to single block and turn the feed to
zero ,then step thru watching the 'distance-to-go' display and crank up
the feed knob after checking that the current move wont crash
many controls have somewhat odd steps on the overrides like
0-5-10-25-50-60-70-80%... and so on up to 200% within 16 settings
others have three overrides for spindle-speed,feedrate and rapid-feedrate
with rapid settings for 25-50-75-100% the rapid override can be dangerous
if your not used to it ,I'm not... ,so I dont like that setup :-)
