Ballendo,
Well there is no other way to "manually" mill on a CNC with only a
jog dial. Of course, even those who may practice this know that it's
not really what it's "for". Seems to me though that on a PC control
that you could have both options. Jog can actually be done with
buttons if no wheel is available. If I had to choose, I'd take jog
buttons and a non-detended "handwheel". However, in speaking of
retrofits, the option to use the original jog wheel should be
implemented (hey, it's free).
