Colin: I may be all-wrong, but I THINK this may be a SUPER-simple fix!
Look at your Geckos: There is the word "ADJUST" in the upper-left. That is
a "hint" that there is a TRIM-POT under that word. There is a hold for a
small screwdriver on the "top side" right above the word ADJUST, and
amazingly, it will CHANGE the "nasty sound" the motors do when fiddling with
things "temporarily hooked up in the bench, just to see". I have not
assembled my first "Gecko-driven machine", yet, but I DID have the two
steppers turning with pointer-knobs attached to their shafts, "to see", and
all is just wunnerful!
