Is this all with the same motor? Motors can go bad, too. I think it is
pretty unlikely that 3 stepper drives would burn out without one of them
making smoke, bad smells, blowing fuses, etc. Is there any possibility that
the wiring has been changed? If you hook up the motor coils wrong, you
could have the same symptom, or if one of the coils had a bad connection
it would also look the same.

It IS possible that a bad cable or motor burned up the same transistor(s)
on 3 drives, but fairly unlikely it could happen without your knowing it.
