Sorry to put a damper on this suggestion but the winscope is bandwidth
(top frequency) limited to 20KHz. This would be ideal for looking at
audio signals but with step pulses down in the 1-5 uSec range you really
need a 20MHz scope (minumum)to see the transitions clearly.

Look in the back of Poptronics magazine for used equipment suppliers.
Or maybe search eBay? New 20-30Mhz scopes are around $300
