I'm running it with a Syntelect control. I think I'll probably just find the
program for the old BBC Microprocessor since we have about 8 of them in the
house. :-) I'm not sure how useful it will be to me at the moment, the
control only has enough memory to take 99 lines of programming, and you have
to use three of those just to set it to metric, incremental and to end the
program. So you get 95 moves. It may be easier just remove it, mount the
lathe on a bench and add a modern control like the ones Dan sells, or
Geckos. My lathe will supposidely claim 0.01mm resolution with no tweaking,
it's measured to those tolerances before it leaves the factory.

I bought one and mine isn't going!

I think I'm, a.) sending it one the wrong com port and I actually need 2
instead of 1, b.) I'm sending it in the wrong format (There are lots of
protocol options for Telix)

Bruce on the list actually wrote a small program for sending program to my
lathe when he worked on them a while back. His program will say it's sent
the file while the lathe sits there looking dumb, like it is. If it keeps
messing about with me I'm going to go ape on it, buy Geckos and then use my
2.2Ghz machine to run them! Buw hu hu hur. Monster power.

I have tommorow off so that'll give me a chance to logically work my way
through every option on Telix with the help of 12 or so cups of coffee.

I remember seeing one that actually had a list of machine with Fanuc
controls on it, I think it was Win CNC 2k. Took my friend and I about an
hour to download all 3 meg or whatever it is. The site kept dropping the
connection.

Why is it Fanucs are so renounced for CNC? (I probably sound really simple
now)
