Hi John:
I have a Bridgeport clone and I have moved it several times all by
myself without any strain at all.
The machine is about 2300 lb.
The easy way is to get some 3/8 x 2" mild steel strap and drill and tap it
for 5/8 or 3/4 NC, right in the middle.
You will need 4 pieces each about 8" long.
The plates slide diagonally under the corners of the machine base so that
the tapped holes line up with the through holes in the machine base.
You can then run some long bolts through to push the machine into the air.
Slide a pallet jack under the machine, (or skates if you prefer) and lower
the machine onto them.
Then roll away!!!
I can just get a 3500 lb machine moving by myself (I've been humping a
Monarch 10EE lathe around for the past month so I know!!!)
2300 lb is easy for a guy my size (180 lb, 5'10").
Cheers
Marcus
