Hi,

A logic analyser? You obviously know what a logic probe is, so, imagine
having 8 logic probes and instead of 3 LEDs indicating the probe status, you
are able to capture and display the probe status, at 25MHz. Also, the
display shows the 8 lines simultaneously.
The logic analyser can capture 16K or more samples for analysis

The logic analyser I have is a Bitscope http:\\www.bitscope.com

What I plan to do is to hook up 6 lines (step,dir line for 3 axis) of the LA
and capture the output, sampling at 25MHz. I can then see and measure any
jitter or noise on the lines from the parallel port.

I hope this helps, I'm not the best at explaining.

Last night I used an oscilloscope to look at the step signal on the x-axis.
There appears to be significant jitter on the line, while with TurboCNC the
pulses are almost rock steady. I didn't have enough time to hook up the LA
to measure the jitter. Maybe tonight.
