Hi all,
I need a little break.
put together a simple power supply, 10 A transformer, has multiple
leads so I could get the voltage I like, 28 in this case. Outputs
just shy of 40 volts after a 68,000 uF cap.
Old compac 486-100 and turboCNC
I am trying to make sure everything is working properly.
Gecko 201a ( early model) and a 0.85 amp 6 volt Vexta. uni-polar
connected as a bi-polar.
The low voltage is just because I want to make sure it works.
470 alum cap on the 1 & 2 pins of the Gecko, 12K resistor on the set-
resistor input. ( 1.5 A )
TurboCNC set for port # 2 for step. # 3 for direction.
Tried to output steps, but alas, no response. I did check the set-up
and it was using port #2 for step, #3 for direction
I am using the 5 volt from the computer power supply for the
step/direction power. could measure 5 v across the Gecko pins. ( 8
and 10)
when I pulled the wire on step, I noticed the Gecko LED flicker a
little. by rubbing the lead onto the terminal ( I know, bad idea) I
could see and hear the motor step.
OK, oh wise ones, what am I doing wrong ? er... how best to get
this puppy to respond to software ?
