Hi MArtin,

since you have some use for a router, search this list, and even the
links on the home page for links to routers until you find a design
that you would like to build.

that should get you pretty deep pretty fast.

and as far as parallel ports go, your best be would be to buy a pre-
build controller and then see what that supplier offers to connect to
the parallel port. if you are half decent with electronics, you can
simply get a computer parallel connection. It would be albe to
connect to one end of a standard cable. the other would use a dual
row header pin. solder the header to a radio shack board and solder
on screw terminals. simple and easy to do. and you can add relays
and stuff.
