I second this. If you look at the 2nd picture here
http://pico-systems.com/CNCconv.html you can see the setup I made with one
of those arms that gets a computer monitor off your desk.
The top picture here http://pico-systems.com/EMC.html shows my computer
rack, which is just behind my normal operating position. The top box is
a custom box I made up for the CPU. It has a fan and filter to bring mostly
clean air in the box. Below that is my rack of servo amplifiers. The DC
power supply is on the bottom. I later added a big drawer above the
computer, and I keep all my measuring tools and drill indexes in there.
I got a little tool caddy rack thing from MSC that was designed for
screwdrivers and such, but it actually works GREAT to hold R-8 mill
tooling, plus some Jacobs chuck keys and such stuff. I attached it to the
side of the rack.

The chair you see in the first photo I mention is a standard secretary roll-around
chair. But, I modified it with a piece of pipe to raise the seat to a perfect position
for sitting at the mill.
