Link the servo to the lead screw as is done in auto power steering. The
screw controls location, and the servo-hydraulic part reduces the load on
the screw. The hydraulics are controlled by valving built right into the
case, right under the ball thrust washers for the screw end location. You
could possibly even adapt one of those units.

I thought I'd made a mistake once, but I was wrong
