Thanks Ray, I saved your reply for future reference. I also fat
fingered my response and lost it, which is a shame, but the
condensed version is: Probably servos. More specs are model z/zx
610, res L/L 0.38, v/krpm 27.8, 230v, Tp 18.6 Nm, and Ip 63. Not
sure what those mean exactly, especially the L/L, Ip and Tp, and not
sure of the conversion from Nm to ft/lbs. but sounds like they might
run the ballscrews without any reduction. The cone drives are rated
4.1hp so 5hp sounds about right. (And heartfelt thanks to Bill for
his very helpful suggestion ;-) I'm pretty lost on drives and
controllers and could sure use some links to spec pages or auction
sites. The laptop idea sounds intriguing. Contouring would be a good
thing to have, as well as a 4th axis for a dividing head or rotary
table. The carousel is intact and looks to have most of the holders,
plus the PO is including any other tooling he has for that machine.
I'll deal with the rest of it as it comes I guess, but first I need
to get it on a pallet and move it over here. Thanks for the advice.
