Re: Higher power from L298 etc.

Tony,

My apologies for that. I've had a pretty full plate up until now,
primarily with bringing the G2002USB 6-axis motion controller to a
point where I can hand it off to people much smarter than me to begin
doing WinXX programming for it.

It is now at the point where next week I will have 25 beta units
going out to people that can write polished and saleable software for
it. It is something I'm very excited about and a product I belive in
very much.

In my gut I feel it will have as much of an impact as any motor drive
I have ever designed. I have been consummed by it because I think it
will revolutionize the controller end of CNC application software. It
will bring together performance unobtainable even in DOS with the GUI
elegance, user convinience and flexibilty of WinXX.

This is an unannouced product product on our website. It is being
done as an open source project because that will give it the best
chance of acceptance. If you are interested where it stands right
now, see the yahoo group called "geckodrive".

It has taken many months of my time and many thousand dollars of
direct costs to get it to this point. It is now done from the
hardware end.

In the next few weeks I will be taking care of other things that have
been started but necessarily have had to push to the back burner.

First out the chute will be the G310, then the G298. I hope to have
betas of both before the end of the year if I really hurry. The G420
has been running since summer but I'm not happy with it because it
utilizes hall-sensor feedback and the comprimses that causes. I have
some ideas I will be exploring to make it a satisfactory product as
well now that my time will be freed-up from the present task.

Mariss
