I really had only know of a few programs like this. DesKam at $250ish,
It seems it gave you pretty good control of what you want to accomplish,
but even on more than one computer I had Demo Crashes. Something about
Demos that crash....:-(
Another, G-Code 2000 ( similarly priced?) I could not figure
out.......Seems You have little or no control on order or sequence. For
that I,d be just as thrilled with Flashcuts converter for Free. (
Version 2 will allow automatic placement of M codes ! within your DXF
conversion)
For the most part, I guess I have been pretty happy with Vector AS a Cam
only program. It lets me keep my drawings totally untouched. And, it has
not even hiccupped with my DXF files. I really like how I can dictate
sequence and cutting order, And the "reorganize command is real handy.
I'm sure people know my complaints... I want better toolbars, a touch
more control of Feedrate placement in the code, and I would prefer to
not have to draw an offset before I can create a Contour toolpath. They
are really minor issues, but I am a whiny butt.
