Re: extending linear rail by butting two pieces together

Just curious - have the same situation (20mm THK rail). I have a
sherline mill, and wondering if i can just mill the ends off square?
I have called a few machine shops in the area, and they have either
said 'you need to grind them' or 'i have never heard of THK square
rails, are you sure they arent round?'

Also - mounting to 8020 extrusion, and curious if there are tricks to
keeping the 'butt' aligned. (w/ key pushing the ends together,
etc...)
