Eric,

Aligning two pieces of THK on an 80/20 extrusion should not be a problem.
From my experience, the THK rails on my 80/20 seem to self align.

For two sections, I would first try them without grinding the ends. The
chamfer that they put on them is very small. If at that point you are not
happy with it, you could have the ends ground.
