No sweat.Hotsaw 'em off, deburr 'em and butt 'em together. We did it all the time on our robot track systems.Make sure they're seated against the registration surface,so they're parallel. We would pad them, and use clamps to seat them as we were tightening them down.It is best to "time" the cuts,so you have the ends fastened by the mounting bolts. This prevents "walking".Good luck! sherline mill, and wondering if i can just mill the ends off square?
I have called a few machine shops in the area, and they have either
said 'you need to grind them' or 'i have never heard of THK square
rails, are you sure they arent round?'
Also - mounting to 8020 extrusion, and curious if there are tricks to
keeping the 'butt' aligned. (w/ key pushing the ends together,
etc...)
Thanks!
