Yes there is a slave mode for these stepper drivers but during a recent
test we had a bit more noise and ragged pulse train from them because the
internal logic turns one input step into four, 1/8'th step, pulses --
thus making a half step for each input step signal. With the slave mode,
the logic doesn't know just how fast to spit out the four pulses before
it receives another step pulse from the external PC.
They work great with the indexing logic supplied by the processor in the
box but not so great with a standard step and direction signal supplied
from outside.
