There's ONE point I have not noticed anyone mentioning in this thread: Would
it not be necessary to "mechanically sync" the encoder to the
stepper-detents, power-on (tighten the set-screw in the right place!), to
make sure that the stepper "settled" approximately half-way between the rise
and fall of the encoder-phases, to preclude horrible "jitter"???? Surely
someone in here "KNOWS about all that"???
