Yes it has been beaten to death and the answers are still the same. In
the $300 - $500 category you have Vector, Dolphin, DeskCNC, BobCAD. They
will all do exactly what you want and a lot more. My favorite in this
class is Vector. I am a dealer for DeskCNC and it is not my favorite
because I am spoiled by Vector. But it is a very power package in that
it give you over $800 worth of software if you buy the items single. If
you have a CAD program and just want CAM it can be the perfect solution.
Visual Mill 4.0 will do .dxf in the pay version.

If your needs are simple Mach1 has limited ability to take a .dxf and
make G-code also. You can get ACE converter for free.

That should give you plenty to pick from. No matter how much we beat
this horse it stays about the same. Everyone likes what they have and
feels it is the only solution <g>.
