Marv,

I think several little transformers would tend to stay cool
pretty well due to the increased surface area/volume.
But I have read that winding hot spots are usually the thing that
thermally limits them if they are typically designed.

But if that voltage is too high it's a no go.

If it turns out to be ok I can draw up a schematic and post
on my site if someone hasn't done that already.

This is a big supply and should be enclosed in a vented box.
It must have some turn on inrush control as well.
It's practically an arc welder. Make a mistake and it will be!
