Yes, that will reduce the output voltage. This appears clearly from
your desciption to be
a transformer-rectifier power supply, so there is no way this could
cause damage to the
power supply. But, 61 *(415 / 440) * 1.414 still equals 81 V, which is
high for the Gecko.
If your line voltage is lower than 415, though, maybe that will come out
right. Do you get
61 VAC now from the transformer? Or is that the nominal rating on it?
What is the
DC output you read from this supply?
