hi group
i need to find out a conveniant way to create toolpaths for hi-gloss
polishing of glass and marble/granite surfaces (common size is
400x600mm). the rule is to never grind/polish the same path twice or
you will get marks, streaks etc. that will be visible from
particular angles.
the work sequence is:
1st rough miller diamond/nickel grit 60, could be any pattern, it
just removes the stock
2nd pre-shaper diamond/nickel grit 120, zig-zag passes to remove
previous scratches
3rd grinder diamond/resinbond grit 100, removes previous scratches in
a tight spiralshape toolpath
4rd grinder diamond/resinbond grit 200, removes previous scratches in
a less tight spiralshape toolpath
5th-8th, 500-3000 grit in a random pattern
so far, the results is ok, but takes an awfull time to hack the code.
i use a 2d cad to create a pattern for each tool, so its alot of
copy&paste
it would be sooo easy to just draw my square and hit a key that
generates the code with all the different tools pre-stored paths and
parameters..
g, its difficult to describe in english
