John,

Glad to see you again promoting Dolphin, but let's be realistic on this.
Either Dolphin or Vector (and I am sure others) will do what he wishes
with about the same amount of effort. True in Vector you see the tool
paths that are created, but in Dolphin the toolpaths are not shown. This
is neither more or less advance, just different. Either way you set some
paramaters and either click the button to automatically make the
toolpaths so you can see what you will get or directly make the g-code
so you do not see what you get.

Agreed, Dolphin is sufficiently advanced to be competitive with some of
the other packages on the market. Like many software products, it is
better than some and not as good as others when doing any specific task.
The same can be said for all the CAD/CAM packages talked about on the
list.
