You could easily do this in Vector using the pocket functions. Just
select horizontal pocket or spiral pocket as needed and set your
parameters so that you get the stepover you want to create a tight step
over or a less tight one. You would set the depth to only do one pass.
Not quite sure on the random as you have not explained what the path
actually is. You can get an angled zig zag by rotating the rectange,
generating a horizontal pocket, and then rotating the toolpath back to
the original orientation. Very quick to do with only a couple of mouse
clicks.
