I checked the 3D Studio Max site and unless I read it wrong it costs
$3995.
I would almost be scared to check the price of Maya because I think it
is over $8000
Again, I think that the biggest obstacle to using a hexapod is the
software to create the tool path is too expensive for most of us to pay.
While the Toolkit is free it requires 3D Max. Since I have no other need
for the program it makes the project cost prohibitive. Solve the
software cost problem and the mechanical part is a piece of cake.

Two program can actually give you these equations from a drawing,
IIRC Maya is one, the other is Autodesk Inventor or 3d Studio Max
