I know you are right about not butchering the shafts. BUT, I just
got 3 of the helical beam shaft couplers from McMaster. Then a
week or so later figured out my servo motors are a bit light
in the britches. So I am going with larger/lower RPM servos.
I dont want to place another 85.00 order, so I'm trying to figure
out an cheap and easy mod. Probably doesnt exist.

Maybe I can exchange my current units for a differnt size.
