Are these the CSR NC400 drives? If so, I think they have a +/-10Vdc control
input and should work fine with the EMC and a Servotogo card. I agree about
the whining though, it's almost bad enough to spend the money for new amps...

54IPM feed or rapid. You will probably do better because you are running the
original BP drives (I had Microkinetics 8010's in half step mode) which are
probably a better match for the Superior/Sigma motors, plus you'll have
.0005" or .001" steps where I had .00025" ones. You'll want to get this
spreadsheet:

http://users.erols.com/mshaver/stepfreq.xls

To set the PERIOD variable:

#cd /usr/local/nist/emc/src/emcmot
#emacs emcfreqmot.c

Scroll down until you find a line that says:

static int PERIOD=20;/* fundamental period for time interrupt */

Change this to PERIOD=12 or so to start.
<Ctrl-x><Ctrl-s> saves the file, <Ctrl-x><Ctrl-c> quits emacs.

#make PLAT=rtlinux_09J all

I'll give you a call later (left you a message a little while ago due to the
time difference) to see how you're doing.
