Gantry design

I have just about completed with my table build-out for a 13x26"
router/engraver. Used 1/8 2x2 tubing, I mitered the corners and tig
welded the tubing. So the finish product is seamless, welds were
ground smooth. The Gantry is next and I am after a fair amount of
precision.
Arms 15" on either side from table base. Should I add 2 stiffeners
at a 45-degree angle to table. This should eliminate any twisting
force for application.
Comments or suggestions on design or measurement in gantry build-out
appreciated!!!
