Hi Dave,
In my machine I have used HDPE pads as you are proposing but I am
using .25 to .375 thick material. So glues are not necessary. I have
tapped threads into the plastic and hold the pads in place with brass
machine screws. Ideally using some type of polymer screw would
possibly be a bit better but brass should do as it wont weld itself to
my square bright steel ways (rails) I think if I was using aluminimum
ways the screws would need to be plastic.
