I tried that originally & it didn't work, but since you mentioned it
I tried it again & accidentally discovered, while probing the port,
that EMC is correctly displaying the status of the port pins. By
that I mean if you force a pin high or low electrically the display
is correctly updated, however it will not write outputs to the port
at all.
Is the ecp/epp setting significant to EMC? I seem to remember having
trouble with one of my setups due to the ecp/spp/spp setting in the
system bios. If so does anyone know how to write to the ecp/epp/spp
register for the NM9805 chip? I'm going to post the last question
separately as well.
