RE : DXF Import
Dear C.S. et al
There are two methods of getting DXF data into
Dolphin Partmaster CAM modules :-
1) Import the DXF file into the CAD module, make any
required modifications and then use the Copy Contour
feature create the required Contours.
Link to CAM via the 'Machining' menu item and the
Contours will be passed to the CAM file.
2) Import Contours and Hole Patterns from an existing
DXF file direct into the Partmaster CAM module without
Using the Dolphin CAD module.
This feature is provided for the user who is committed
to an alternative 3rd party CAD product and does not
wish to use the Dolphin CAD module.
Details of how this works can be found in the
'HELP \
Whats New \
V6,0,0,4'
menu item.
A sample DXF file for this method can be found in the
folder :-
c:\Program Files\Dolphin Partmaster\Examples
For information on DXF check the Help files, for
Recent modifications check the 'Whats New' by
doing a search on the keyword DXF.
Regards
Michael

Subject: Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Re: CAD software
Has anyone tried the demo version of their CAM software? I can't figure
out how to import a file - I just want to try some 2.5D milling, but
everything I've tried to import, I get a response: "The drawing does not
contain any geometry that can be imported." I've tried half a dozen
different DXF files...
They appear to have a package with Mach2 now - which looks like it would
be pretty nice (do you get a discount if you already own Mach2?) if I
could figure out how to use DXF files...
