I deleted the message where
Steve C. questions my thought that the +- on the encoders are for the tach generators-- the power comes in on the 12V line. I'm pretty sure most reasonably equipped robots come with both t/g and encoders. Encoders aren't enought to get fast stable movement. Do tachs require power? i think not.
