If the axis is set up properly, ie nothing is binding, it doesn't take
much force on the table to spin the ballscrew. We've got several axes
set up with 3/4" 5TPI ballscrews direct driven by servos where we can
push on the axis and it will spin the motor.
I wouldn't rely on an un powered ballscrew to hold an axis in place.
