I'm referring to the standard 5 TPI on a Bridgeport. Yes, Bridgeport sold and sells as a factory option, the installation of ballscrews. They are meant for CNC use. I dont know how you can label a fact a "wives tale".

are several turns per inch. If this wasn't true Bridgeport would not
