Ed,

I understand what you're talking about. Give me a little time to work
on the math.
Basically, the approach to take is by creating the curve in the flat,
that is, substitute X for the A axis. When machining, you can sub A for
X. I'm working out roller and tool offsets and the like. What you'll
need to do is find the angle perpendicular to the curve at some point,
measure out along that angle for the radius of the roller, that will be
the path the roller should be on. From the same point on the same
angle, move out the radius of the cutting tool, that will be that
actual cut path.

If you have the curve designed, email it to me and I'll work with it in
TurboCAD. I've been working on radius compensation using VBA in
TurboCAD, so this is along similar lines.
