A mechanical relay isolates also as long as the contacts are not
wired back to the coil signals in some method. The only issue I
would potentially have with an automotive relay is if the trigger is
truely high impedance, over time the contacts may not clean and
eventually you won't get electrical contact. i.e. no trigger
I'm just not familiar with plasma triggers. But between the
automotive relay and the high current ssr, I get the impression there
is some significant current flow. That doesn't fit with a high
impedance input, unless it is capacitive in nature thus a high
initial current.
