For a 2' by 2' design ebay would be your best bet for rails. I recently
purchased 4 THK rails and 6 bearings on ebay for $500.

Foe your Y axis, you may want to look at Bishop Wisecarver V wheels. I have
used them on one of my machines for about five years with good results.
