okay, so IF it could be rewound for 800 (i think that's high, it's
cheaper in houston, but they have about 50 rewind shops about here)
that would elimenate VFD noise, RSC (rotary static converter) issues,
and some shielding issues with PC based control systems..

on "as strong".. that part I don't see, as many low HP (3 and under)
machines are offered to be able to be wired either way, or am I just
reading the marketing materials wrong?


Or, heck, let's get to the heart of the issue, if *I* bought a 2 hp
boss 8 cnc, 3ph, I would NOT bother with a vfd on it.. i would get the
wiring and motor from a 2 hp 220 1ph , and bolt it on... and yeah, I
would spend DOUBLE or more for that simple solution, rather than
kludge it, knowing I am introducing unknowns into a pc-cnc/enc setup.
