It's extremely difficult to be able to satisfy ALL stepper motors feeding
habits. However, if you make your board to supply the correct stepping
pulses, at the correct voltage/current levels, and allow for 4,5,6, or
8-wire motors, you should be able to run 'most any motor. But this will be
a rather cumbersome task, and you'd be better off to rather, limit your
choice of motors to some common standard, then design a really efficient
driver board for that set of parameters. Hope this helps.
