Grub is another boot loader. I haven't used it, just LILO.

Sure, once you get the basic Linux up, you can mount any other compatible
file system, and read and copy files around. I've got the Que "Using Linux"
book, it is a bit more advanced, but I'd still like MORE. The "HOWTO"
files that are part of any full Linux distro have a LOT of info in them.
