I did find a not very detailed autocad drawing of the spindle.
Can you read an autocad .dwg or .dxf?
As to your hobby type mill (a mill drill?)...
one of the most fascinating things about machine tools is that
one can build a more accurate machine FROM a lesser accurate
machine- and this is one of the founding principles of the industrial
revolution. After all we started with a couple of rocks...right?
If there is some interest in a home built metal cutting cnc spindle perhaps
I could write something up and put it on the website. I am not a hobbyist,
but I limit posts here to hobbyist issues and try to put up useful
information on the website.
I should advise that fabricating such a thing requires that you have
a metal lathe, tool post grinder or cylindrical grinder, and surface
grinder.
It also requires a willingness to part with $150 or so for bearings.
Ought to talk to Bob Campbell or Doug Fortune about kitting something up....

Leslie,
I currently do not have a precision mill (only a hobby inaccurate
mill). I plan to use my current hobby mill to create my more precise
gantry mill and for this I need to make many holes in mild steel. Do
you have a picture of your spindle? For milling mild steel, I will
need a spindle/motor that runs at 800 - 1200 rpm approximately.
Thanks,
