A Mini-Mill spindle is another alternative.
Little Machine shop sells the unit for $250.00, but Homier sells the
whole mill for $299.00

Motor, DC speed control, R8 spindle. This is a serious miniature
milling head.


I think Homier sells the replacement head for less, if you can get
thru to them.

There are pages on the web from people who trashed the junky column
feed and replaced it with a ballscrew.

this offers some promise for the heavy duty side of light milling or
the light side of metal milling.
