Switching the motor on/off with the original switch could be a
problem for the VFD. For that matter, any switch between the VFD and
the Motor can be a problem.
On my Lathe I rewired the Main Switch, Hi/LO Switch, Emergency
Switches, Break Switches, Lever Switches, Reversing Switches and all
that stuff, to low voltage control to the VFD.
This allowed me to keep all the original switching controls and most
importantly if I had not done so, I would not trust myself from
losing presence of mind and... well you know.
The electrical box looks almost empty as I was able to remove many of
the Control Relays that were no longer needed. (No Relays are good
Relays)
