ballendo & all,
Paper is ok, but not too practical when the the tooling is dripping
with coolant, oil, etc.
I use shim stock (stainless steel or blued steel) of .003 or whatever
thickness is handy but still flexible. You get a good feel for the "fit"
and an known measurement on touch off. Lasts a long time and not messy.
