I retroed a similar mill, with very good success.
Last year there was a very good series of articles in the "Home Shop
Machinist" on doing this same type Mill.
I used Ballscrews, size 34 Step Motors, of corse Geiko Drives and
currently evaluating the Mach2 software, that I must say is turning
out to be really really nice.
I have to say...
I have come to hate that round column.
It slips under heavy cuts!
It really and truly sucks.
I wish that someone had it up there nose.
I would try to find something better.
You can find these with a square column.
Try Grizzly.
The Bridgeport is just too much machine for my little shop.
They should make half size Bridgports. (for free)
Tom M.
P.S. My Posts have not been posting to the groop for the last couple
of days. They have been going to individulal members instead.
I changed my e-mail address and Yahoogroups falls apart over that.
Sorry to those who got my mail and wondered "who the hell is this?"
