Yes, capacitors in parallel are added together. In series, it is somewhat
more complex--but not much. As a note, electrolytic capacitors--if they have
a plus and minus terminal they are electrolytic--don't handle high
frequencies very well. If I have worries about high frequency signals
passing through an electrolytic capacitor I will solder a small Mylar
capacitor in parallel with the electrolytic cap..
