There is a photo in the files section titled "High Speed Bridgeport
Spindle Idea", of something I cooked up a while back for doing
engraving on my Bridgeport. Basically, it consists of a laminate
router bolted to an aluminum plate. The connection to the BP was
made by taking an NTMB 30 collet holder which was missing the nose
piece and scrwing it into a threaded hole in the plate. Since then I
have added a "limit" switch which cuts the feed to the main spindle
coil of the BP motor starter. Spinning a router at 4000 rpm is
exciting for about a tenth of a second (never did it, but figured
there's a first time for everything in life) ;-o
The rotational alignment to the spindle nose is relitively
unimportant once a reference point is established. The horizontal
alignment to the table is more important.
