For those that are interested in these things, DeskCNC has continued
to have an active development history.
Following are recently added software items (through 2.067):
1) hardware cycle start and cycle repeat.
2) 4 independent spindle relay commands for M03, M04, M07 and M08
3) optional abrupt or metered backlash compensation
4) improved rendering of scanned stl surfaces
5) point cloud to .stl conversion (with automatic probe tip
compensation of scanned surfaces).
6) acquire images from video camera for raster to vector conversion
7) G65 subroutine support
8) Rotary 4th axis, 3D ring, toolpath creation and toolpath display.
Coming soon: 4 axis foam, programming and cutting
Hardware available includes:
External serial port controller board operating at 40,000+ steps per
second under Windows 98 on a dumpster class computer.
The SV-500, 30 volt, 5 amp servo driver board ($65 per axis)
An Allegro A3977 based 4 axis stepper driver board ($45 with new
purchase)
TP-100 Touch probe, 5 way sensing for surface scanning.
These products will be on display at Iron Fever in York, PA on August
13-15th.
